Redditch - we ate all the (Tesco) pies!

THE answer to the age-old question of who ate all the pies? has
finally been answered.
And, as part of a top 10 table of hot pie eating towns in the
country released by Tesco, Redditch has come second.
Claiming the runners-up prize to Leicester, residents have eaten
225,500 pies and spent an average of £14.60 so far this year.
The news follows a seven per cent rise in pie sales in the last year
across all UK retailers.
Tesco chief food developer, Angela Hughes, said: “While pies were
once thought of as merely a snack they are now being eaten as
part of a balanced core meal alongside vegetables such as carrots,
broccoli or potatoes. ”

Apparently the defecit behind Leicester was only 30,000 pies, despite Leicster's population being around 4 times the size of Redditch. Obviously this is Tesco only, and doesn't say much other than us Redditch-ites like our pies (we do have a massive Tesco store too).
