RSH e-Vouchers have an expiry date. Am I correct in thinking that this expiry date refers to the date of ticket purchase rather than the date of travel?

So, if say I have an e-Voucher that expires on 31 Mar 2013, could I use it to purchase a ticket for travel in May 2013, as long as I make the purchase before the expiry date?

I'd just add that in the past RSH have put the wrong TIME on the expiry date on their system - eg so the e-voucher value expired at 12:00 (ie 12:00pm midday) on the expiry day rather than at 24:00 (ie 12:00am midnight).

Of course they diagnosed & corrected by issuing a fresh e-voucher when chased about it and that meant extra time to utilise the value, but frankly don't need such RSH hassles and if I'd been trying to use the value to grab an Advance ticket ASAP it'd have been annoying as took 1-2 days for the replacement e-Voucher to be allocated to the a/c!

Hopefully RSH have learned from their past mistake... hopefully.

I would suggest that if timing is everything then do not rely on these vouchers which are usually little bonuses in life. If something similar happens, use your credit card and put the value in the voucher towards something else.

Mistakes happen, frustrating as they are.
