It's been a while since I posted here....

No new locos in the UK since my post back in January after an 08 at Barrow Hill, but I did get 18 locos in Belgium and 26 in Germany at the end of January, the highlight being 218460 out of Frankfurt.

A weekend in London at the end of last month got me 11 new 700s, 2 x GWR 387/1s, 5 x GX 387/2s, 6 x 378s for 'extending' (down to 2) and also my last 4 DLR sets (56, 76, 77 and 92) which I was rather pleased about!

For anyone down to their last few Docklands, I found that (based on my last two visits) the best way to do it is to have an hour or so at Canary Wharf, then the same at Poplar, then Canning Town (low level). This enables you to observe all the units in service. During my visit, I made notes of what units were going where, so I could check when they started repeating. Sundays are a good day for DLR cranking, as from around 10.00 onwards, it is the full service, unlike many other parts of the rail network.

Tech, you beat me in getting 700025 but four days later and it's now safely in the bag having performed on this morning's commute to the "factory" so for me that's now a very creditable YTD figure of 48.

Agreed, my last trips have been based at Shadwell, shifting towards Canary Wharf for what runs to Stratford &a short fester at Canning Town LL.

Shadwell is good as the time taken for services to Beckton/Woolwich/Lewisham are roughly the same time so I make a note of the first services and when they start coming back I jump on the next available Lewisham service.
