If you have twitter, you can tweet Northern's twitter team and they will get you an answer normally within 15 mins... Its what i do to get unit info

Yeah - helped me to zero in on 142009 on Saturday.

Normally a quick "Hi, can you tell me what so-and-so is working today?" does wonders. The best time to ask is about 0600 when their twitter desks opens, although they will reply to you at any time. They'll even give you routing options using the three letter code to save characters if they know you are a dedicated spotter. I can not say much about most of the other TOCs, but EMT and VTEC will also do the same if you ask them nicely

It's the only 32xx unit with just one driving car; it was created a few years ago from a number of spare vehicles. The unit can also sometimes be overlooked in a haulage chase as it's numbered away from the main sequence.

Good day mileage accumulating in Cumbria on 37s. Finish up in Barrow on 37401 at 2030 and go for tea. Turn back up at Barrow for the last train to Carnforth and my hotel and I drop into 156491, my last Northern 156!
