Yesterday in London while going for the London Broncos v Hull FC match.

Plus the Ground was winner: Priestfield Stadium as the match was at Gillingham which also resulted in winner shack and a little bit of winner track.

Excellent day, enjoyed abit of both trains and rugby.

Had a decent Bank Holiday weekend, I don't normally record units on here but a couple were significant. Here are the weekend scores:

June 2 - 170201, which was my last Greater Anglia DMU.
June 3 - D2279 at the East Anglian Railway Museum.
June 4 - 378209, my last 378. Bit of a bonus this, was on my way to Epping Ongar and spotted it at Stratford so did a quick leap to Hackney Wick on it.

Well, I''ve nearly cleared 444036 for travel! :D I only need one more carriage now, 67136. I have to make at least one journey in each carriage of a unit, you see, to claim that i have completely cleared it. This is my new policy, i've decided. With some, of course, like 153s, it's easier than others. With Pendos, for instance, it may not be altogether practical. I think I'll just do it with those i get the chance to ride in regularly.
What's that, you say? That's bordering on obssessive compulsive? Well, you may be right. But since they're the things we get almsot exclusively down this way, I may as well make a bit of a challenge. <:D

For me it depends if the coach is motorised / powered. 67136 is a TSO (trailer standard open), therefore not powered. On 444s all the driving coaches are powered (ie 63801 to 63845 DMSO and 63851 to 63895 DMCO).

If only it was possible for me to get time off work with three days notice - and 08502 is added to a long list of gronks I have missed out for haulage over the years.

Apart from some foreign stuff which I'm not going to list, a couple of recent outings for some red penning with mixed success:

Birmingham day out, the main aim was to get my last 172. Sadly, it was 'Tyseley spare' that day and I even saw it shunting round the yard! Did clear my 168s and LM 153s/170s though so not a bad day in the end.

Last weekend. Expected 4 new locos, which became 2! South Wales on Saturday and scored 73118, my other planned one (9681 at Dean Forest) had decided to park itself in the ballast earlier that week. Then Sunday to Bo'ness - 66850 was new, but sadly GBRf sent a loco which had worked at the Nene Valley in 2008.

Relatively little for me to report this month - and all on the same day.

Loco D9531
GMPTE Metrolink trams 3017, 3021, 3022, 3023, 3024, 3025, 3027, 3029

In fact the past few weeks were more notable for what I missed (all due to work commitments) - 08502 (at Barrow Hill), 26038, 66850 (at Bo'ness).
And D2991 (still required) was due to work at Avon Valley on the 21st but got changed to the 31 a couple of days before.

Far more interesting than most of the stuff in here!
I was out in early July having some quality engines of the Czech and Former-Yugoslavian variety.

664120 however was a big DUD but that was more than made up by it being swapped for 664110 on the return - a clawback (the only possible one) on my travelling companion! These machines are seriously loud, I think they even pip CP1900s...

87015 - I believe we spotted you linesiding on the Saturday of the Tisnov event (possibly from 751010 in one of your phots). Certainly more interesting than over here as you say, but sadly work, time and money prevent me from heading abroad too often.

Louder than the CP 1900s? I really need to pay a visit there!

29 years after the event!

On 28/8/82 I travelled from Rochdale to Darlington, to watch a football match (3-0 to Darlo, IIRC :( ...).

I changed at Leeds and York in both directions, and did some spotting en route. One of my last numbers noted at Leeds was 46027.

Now, thanks to the "1980's Timewarp" website I find that 46027 was on the 0905 Liverpool-Scarborough that day, and thus was almost certainly responsible for the Leeds to York leg of my journey.

I'm claiming it anyway :)
