I live in Heysham and have lately been seeing lots of London buses (first & Go Ahead and possibly others) passing through and down the M6. I can only guess that they have come off the ferry.

These buses use the bus lanes through Lancaster, is that appropriate?

I also spotted a golden liveried double decker with Chinese markings heading toward the docks a few months ago.

Heysham has become very busy lately since Fleetwood docks were closed by DFDS Irish Sea.

As mentioned already, the chassis go out to Ireland for bodying and are then driven back.
London ones are mostly B9TLs for First (?).

KMB deckers (golden chinese ones) will be driven to Felixstowe/Dover for onward sailings to HK.

Depends on what type of bus lane it is. Some are restricted to local buses, most are not.

TBH bus lanes are so poorly enforced in large areas no one seems to give a **** anymore.

I have seen six-wheel D-Ds on the M3 headed for Southampton though I have no idea if they were Polish-built that had been dropped off at say Felixstowe or from Co Antrim.
