Hi all,

I'm going to be doing a last minute trip down to Exeter the weekend after next for the Premiership Rugby semi final. Normally I travel from Reading to Digby & Sowton via Taunton on Advance tickets, but i'm going to go to Pinhoe this time as its a lot cheaper, especially on a Network Railcard.

Quick question, can I use an Off Peak Return ticket on the 18:34 train from Reading to Basingstoke, connecting onto the 19:07 departure to Pinhoe. The GWR website says the ticket isn't valid, but the restriction code 5K on brfares.com says it is: http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=RDG&dest=PIN&grpo=0403&rlc=NEW&tkt=SVR

Anyone able to confirm?

Kind regards,
Alex B

Should be fine. See the official restrictions listed here: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/5K

It seems to be intending to restrict the train that was formerly the 1833 to Penzance (which now appears to depart earlier at 1831) by restricting all departures from Reading between 1833 and 1834 (which you can see in the "Unpublished Restrictions" section in BRFares). These "unpublished" restrictions aren't enforcible, and this restriction was clearly not meant to restrict this train anyway, so you should be fine.

Fabulous, thank you for your help!
