i start a new job in London next week and was wondering is it possible to get a Reading to London Zone 1 only season?

you can buy a Reading to London Zone 1 day return, but can't find anything about a season ticket, it just gives me a RDG to 1-6 only. i will be working in Zone 1 so have no need for the other zones.

You should be able to just get a Reading to London Terminals season ticket. One will be to Paddington and the other via Ascot to Waterloo. This is £3800.

Although if you were asking if you could get a Zone 1 Travelcard together with the season ticket, this is not possible. Either you can get a Reading to Z1-6 or just Reading to London terminals, so you would need a separate ticket if you wanted onward travel once in London. Possibly a Z1-2 annual travelcard but this is not appropriate as it would cost more than the combined Reading to 1-6 Season ticket!

i still need a zone 1 add on as i have to travel to Euston Square. i looked into getting a RDG to London terminals + Zone 1 Oyster season but it worked out dearer than a RDG to 1-6. <(

Exactly,

With the combined ticket, you are only paying £716 more to get in effect an annual Z1-6 Travelcard, which is very good value as it's RRP is £2136! You may also find this useful when you travel elsewhere as you can go anywhere in Z1-6 for free unlimmited times and also get an extension from Z6 should you need to go somewhere not covered by your Season ticket.

Could someone confirm whether a Reading Stations - West Hampstead Stations season ticket is valid for the OP? The restriction is "via or changing at Richmond", but I'm unsure about if this means the tube is included?

Sounds like it's intended to mean it's valid via London Overground. In any case, it would only be valid on the route via Ascot which takes forever.
