Hi All,

Looking to travel from Reading to East Croydon on Saturday 26th, coming back the next day. Is there any way through splitting where I can pay less than the £21.45 off peak return (with r/card).

I also have an Oyster Card (also with railcard attached), am happy to travel any reasonable route and have noticed the attached anomaly from West Drayton to Clapham Junction (via Shepherds Bush I think).

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Alex

The cheap fare avoiding Zone 1 is not an "anomaly", without looking at a map I'd say you need to change at Earl's Court and Shepherd's Bush to get that fare.

It's only 65p more to East Croydon, by the same route.

However the cheapest is likely to be via Redhill:

From READING STATIONS
To CROYDON STATIONS
Route VIA REDHILL
http://www.brfares.com/#!faredetail?orig=RDG&dest=ECR&rlc=YNG&rte=614&tkt=SVR

This costs £16.55 with Railcard discount

Earl's Court and Shepherd's Bush? Although that would avoid Zone 1, it would be better to change at Ealing Broadway and Shepherd's Bush...
