I think a clue could be that the Ellesmere Port sand train operated yesterday morning too. I think it may use the same wagons on the days it is not operating to E/Port?Yea, First time its been cancelled since it started, Does anyone know why it could of been cancelled?
It is and literally the same works too. The sand flow between those two locations carried on until about 1984/5.When I was a TOPS clerk at Arpley Marshalling Yards in the late-1970s we had a regular flow of sand for glassmaking from Oakamoor in Staffordshire to Pilkington Glass's siding at Ravenhead in St Helens. This sounds like something similar.
