I see from PSUL and the latest issue of RAIL that the one train a night service (Mon - Thur nighht southbound, saturday morning northbound) that used the curves between Tottenham South Junction (on the Lea Valley Line between Clapton and Tottenham Hale) and S Totenham (on the Suffragette Line near South Tottenham), and between South Tottenham Junction and Seven Sisters (on the Weaver Line) dissappeared from the timetable last month, although in practice it was cancelled more often than not, and had last run on August 2nd.

Have those curves been through a formal closure notice?

If not, is there a new "ghost bus" (presumably between Clapton and Seven Sisters)

Maybe one to take up with the DfT as it wouldn't be the first time bits of track with limited passenger service has had service removed without going via the closure process.

TfL can argue back that as the service which used those curves was nonstop Hackney to Seven Sisters it's not removed any direct journey opportunities (unlike the pointless replacement bus from West Ealing towards Ruislip due to the loss of a 'direct' service)

I personally doubt if the curve would be under any threat of being closed and lifted as it provides a diverse route in the event of a blockage between Seven Sisters and Hackney Downs.

It also provides for any Freight train on the Lea Valley heading towards Stratford needing to be diverted at Cheshunt to regain the line through Copper Mills.

There may be some similarities with the BR closure of the (viaduct) line from Gelderd Road Junction to Leeds City station which had no stations along it, with BR claiming they didn't have to apply the Transport Act of 1962 as it was little more than a de-quadrification of the line from that point into Leeds.

4L73 Tinsley-London Gateway is booked to go via the Seven Sisters-South Tottenham Curve.

I'd assumed the Parly service was there to retain route knowledge, but that can be done with an ECS working.
