Rare 1st gen DMUs on S&C: 1980s

I remember 4-car class 108 dmus on the Carlisle-Leeds-York "ghost trains" in the mid-80s; they ran will little pubilicity, so few pax, and more stats for BR to use a part of its closure manifesto.

Anyone know of anything else? I've seen photos of a class 114, and a friend at university recalled seeing a class 120.

Anything else unusual spotted from those days?
