And how come he didn't need his glasses when he had that silly costume on ?

Do you think he'd wear it if he could see what he looked like?

I also have glasses - but I only use them for seeing.

The lenses on my new reading glasses are so strong that you need good eyesight to see through them.

Talking of glasses, anyone who wears them will know that for some reason the arms will only fold neatly one way i.e.left before right or perhaps vice versa. When I got my new glasses I asked the optician why this was so. His answer, in an mysteriously ominous tone of voice, was "Nobody knows".

I just tested that with mine. They fold neatly either way... Does this mean I should run to the patent office before my optician realises...?

Spaceships in films always seem to be equipped with a self-destruct button; wouldn't they be much safer without it?

They should at least disconnect it and take the bulb out.

Someone my other half knows moved house from the centre of Exeter to somewhere else a couple of miles away yesterday. In the afternoon their ginger cat escaped from the new house and walked all the way back to the old one. There's about five people trying to catch him at the moment but he's having none of it apparently

Did anyone ask the cat if he wanted to move?

Time for a moan. Is it just me or does anyone else find this caption annoying? I'm sure we've all got the message by now.

I don't really want to think about it in case I get annoyed about it too.

In Chrome at least, I'm fairly sure the pop-up can be got rid of quite easily.

If I got rid of it what would I moan about? Fortunately I'm on Firefox so the problem doesn't arise - unless someone knows different.

If you're really set on having something to moan about, you might as well go back to internet explorer ;)

I miss Mosaic. Then again, I miss Lynx.

Lynx are something of a greedy eater, best happy when they are fed at least two kilograms of raw meat a day. I note the advertising agency who make the "Dreamies" cat-treat TV advert don't use a Lynx, as the holes in the wall would be a damn sight bigger than those the domestic cat makes.

Just watched my 14 year old son play his first competitive game of football for the mighty Copplestone United. They one 6 - 1. It was great. :)

Does anyone one know what language is used in the background words of the TV advertisement that shows a father taking his daughter to school in a new car.

The first words seem to be "Brekki, brekki, brekki" then near the end of the advertisement, the words "Powli, powli, powli" are heard.

I think It's a mixture of Klingon and urban street jargon Paul innit.

It's English.

Brekkie is just short for breakfast so she's asking to be fed then after arguing with her father on the subject of quantum mechanics she becomes exasperated at his ignorance and says "Pauli, Pauli, Pauli" as in the Pauli exclusion principle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauli_exclusion_principle
