Last month, we had 4404 new posts on the forum, on which 23rd February was the most popular day for those posts, adding 236 to the count on that day. Closely following was Feb 4th with 231 posts.
I can only assume the 23rd "bounce" was because of the Grayrigg incident.
Last month, there were 330 new threads, compared to January with 395 new threads. Hence, there were more new posts in January, adding 5373 to the count!
Now, the database cockup on 9th February I have data from, but not before, mainly because it required an emergency server move!
hock:. Needless to say, that went quite well as we're back with almost no downtime as that lovely redirector was setup which forwarded you all to the new dedicated IP for the site. 
Anyway, onto the random statistics as generated by awstats:
Monday's are generally our most popular day, with 58300 pageviews on average. 9pm is the most popular hour of the day for traffic hitting the site, a total of 121086 pageviews were made in the reporting period during the hour of 9pm (that's every day from 21:00:00 to 21:59:59) using 575MB of traffic!
Despite being a UK based site, the majority of traffic comes from the US with all those lovely robots scanning the site for indexing into Google, Inktomi, Yahoo, Microsoft Live Search, etc, using up 3.51GB of traffic just on the railforums.co.uk domain. Great Britain uses up 1.63GB of traffic compared to the US, with a total of 302740 pageviews! The EU comes third, then Canada and Germany. At the bottom is Algeria with 1 pageview.
The majority of visits to this site last only up to 30 seconds, although this isn't accurate as the sessions end after 5 minutes and users may be in the progress of typing very long rants or posts like myself at the moment, and earlier on Myspace. After that, the majority of visits last between 5 minutes and 15 minutes (11.4% share).
The majority of data served is in the form of .gif files, with 826792 hits. However, these do not use the main source of bandwidth on here, which is obviously .php files, using 3.2GB transfer.
And now onto the Operating Systems of preference for users on here, for which I use Google Analytics which have code embedded on the site.
The operating system of preference for users of this site is, indeed, Microsoft Windows, using 96.68% of all our traffic. If we then break it down, of those 96.68% users (imagine that's 100%):
In order of "preference":
IE is the most popular browser to visit the site (57%), followed by Firefox and then Opera. In 10th position is the "SonyEricssonK800i"hock:, someone visiting us with a mobile!
77.73% hits are from "direct hits", ie previous visitors, 2.1% are from a search engine, 20.4% are from an external page, the favourites being www.railuk.org and www.trainsimcentral.co.uk/links.html.
Sadly, the most popular search engine hit I don't think is right to post on here as it relates to a death of a well known Tramlink enthusiast.
And apparently it reckons 58.1% of visitors add the site to their favourites. :tard:. I don't think so!
