Random Platform Workings

Does Stockport-Stalybridge (once a week) still use platform 3A at Stockport? (3A isn't just one end of platform 3 it's a separate platform between platforms 3 and 4.)

Used to - think it uses 0 or 3 (if quick) now it was schedualed to handle the 2238 (or around there) Sat Only Northern to Wigan WG

Was at Crewe yesterday morning for the Spitfire tour and there was an Arriva 158 in P8. When we were passing Shrewsbury the same 158 was heading towards Birmingham as part of a 2 unit pair.

First time I have seen anything in Crewe P8 for a long time though not sure if the 158 worked a service train to Shrewsbury or not before joining up to work to Birmingham.

Was the Spitfire tour the Prisoner Preston-Pwllheli?

Saw two WC-liveried 37s on front at Preston at start of tour, and these were in p2 bay at Crewe at 1707 yesterday.

On the 1620 Bhm-EDB Pendolino (unusually!) yesterday, and I saw the 37s then:

We also went into 12 on that train for no apparent reason yesterday: random!!
