Ramsgate -> Bedford -> London -> Bedford

Hiya!

Am travelling back from university tomorrow, and then going to a gig in London in the evening. Am just wondering if there is a cheaper way to make the above journey (all in one day) than buying a single to Bedford then a return Bedford - London. No underground needed in London for the gig as I have an Oyster card (and a 16-25 railcard if that helps!)

For this time I would forget the Oyster and Get get:

• A Super Off-Peak Day (Not HS1) to Victoria at £18.50
• Zone 1 - 6 Off-Peak Day Travel Card at £7.50
• Boundary Zone 6 (0072) to Bedford Off-Peak Day Return at £12.00
  
  Totaling £38.00 (including unlimited travel in London Zones 1-6)

Assume you mean Bedford -> Boundary Zone 6 for the last ticket as that way I'm using the outward portion first?

Is there anywhere online that I can buy ticket to/from boundary zones? Can't find them on the virgin trains site. (Prefer to buy online if I'm buying split tickets like this, as they're easier to pick up than confuse the person at the ticket office!

But surely as a day return I'm using the outward portion twice, which isnt allowed? (Bedford is gated so my ticket will either be marked as used or eaten!)

Thats why I've edited and added another SGL to Bedford!

They all are available online - for BZ6 enter 0072 into East Coast, but, for the TC buy it at Ramsgate Ticket Office - Its easier!

Excuse my stupidity but I cant get 0072 to be seen as a valid location on eastcoast.co.uk's booking engine. If i just type the number into the 'To' box, I get an error and it wont let me proceed.

Probably missing a step or something though!

No, try by putting it in the from box. the tickets you want are from BZ6!

It seems to work here!

Still can't get 0072 to be accepted as a location though - anyone else got any ideas? (I may very well be formatting the text wrongly, I'm literally just putting the number in with nothing wrapped around it at the moment)

As far as I know you can't buy tickets from Boundary Zones online. Never been able to get it to work myself, on Southern's website you can type in "Boundary Zone 6" but it won't display any fares.
