Well, what a fine idea that turned out to be! I started off wanting to do a reskin of the purple peril 9016 when it ran in Porterbrook colours. The obvious stumbling block was the WiPac headlights (and the fact I started off WAY too pink!).
Somehow, my mind then got to the question of how much livery variation was there for such a small class with a relatively small shelf life?
Via the Deltic bible http://www.napier-chronicles.co.uk/, I found out everything I needed to know, even dates for livery changes, when the 'D' was dropped from the numbers, and when TOPS numbering came in. Plus, due to my young age, I didn't realise that Finsbury Park didn't start redoing the white windows on BR Blue Deltics until the late 70s after a long absence.
What it's culminated in, is me having a total of 24 (yes, twenty-four!) reskins of Deltic, all with the number as part of the skin, because the alpha numbers were all over the shop and not flexible. Because I was trialling out weathering a loco too, I have 3 versions of Gordon Highlander.
Anyway, enough of me blowing my own trumpet (seriously, this has took a shedload of work for me, and I've only just had Railworks over a month) below are directlinked images of all of the livery variations with a little bit of background info (including how Kuju got the green with half panel wrong) and then links to the rest of the 22 which wear the same livery as any of the others which have images up in this thread.
I hope everyone likes them (please, even the purple one), I'm hoping to clean all of my files out that I used during construction so that I can package these up for download. I'll update on any downloads as soon as it happens.
D9000 pre-naming in two tone green before yellow panels were required. The headcode diaplayed is made using the downloadable font, and is from the Flying Scotsman service.
9001 shortly after repainting in to BR blue. When this happened to some Deltics, they lost the 'D' prefix straight away.
D9002 with half-sized warning panel. I've corrected an error with the built in half-sized panel livery, whereby the tail light mountings are incorrectly yellow on Kujus version.
D9003 in full green, pre-naming and with Finsbury Park depots distinctive white windows
9006, basically the pre-TOPS number but with domino style headlights
D9007 with headcode display and corrected half-sized panel livery
D9008 wears full green, but with the name on, so two smaller British Railways totems are placed beneath the cab windows.
55009 complete with white windows in BR Blue livery
D9010 was unique in being the only member of the class to display BRs double arrow emblem on a green livery
D9012 is BR blue with headcodes still in place
55014 represents TOPS numbering with headcode display still in place
55015 may be a repeat model, but I wanted a full pack of 22 to call my own
D9016 is weathered guise, no doubt it's a poor effort but I tried
The last 'proper' livery different to any of the above is D9020, full green, named and with white windows.
But last, and by no means least, we should not forget the Porterbrook 9016. So, here it is, with the magenta toned down towards purple more, and numbers etc in the right place.
I've not got round to packaging them up yet, because someones bound to notice a glaring error. Oh, and links to the other missing ones of the 22, that match some of the above
