Shame the website doesn't give full list of the new locos, it would make it a lot easier to decide whether to buy the extra or not

It's out now. Seems a bit faster on my PC.

I thought that at first. Still getting used to the big pop out menus. One thing I can't help feeling: it's been made for people that have never played it before. I know that's what they want to happen, but I'm not too keen on the idea of multiplayer, and the ridiculously big AWS warning on the HUD (although I only use it for seeing where stations are, and the slimline version of it is perfect without the controls). Looking forward to seeing if I can get an Xbox controller to work with it too. I bet that will be an absolute b*tch

Yeah, I'm not keen on the big AWS button either. I don't see why it has to be so big, nor what was wrong with where it was positioned, and its size, before. Now it's miles away from the rest of the controls.

Am I the only person that uses 'Q' for the AWS and therefore doesn't care where or how big the button is?

What's that radar type thing for?

There also seem to be a few bugs. When I first ran it I selected the London to Brighton route and a Free Roam scenario starting at Gatwick. However the track wasn't rendering properly and there was grass between the platforms where the track should be. I restarted and cleared the cache and that seemed to fix it. But I've just tried the same scenario again and on one of the stations the platforms are completely missing, and also the whistle icon does not work, and you have click the bell icon to get the whistle to sound!

Yeah I've got a couple of bugs, the horn button not working on London to Brighton, I also seem to be missing a few signals (they causing AWS activations and are showing up in that little display at the bottom of the screen but I can't actually see them). I also tried firing up a 421 scenario on the LB route and it crashed giving a list of vehicles (that make up the 421) and saying it couldn't load them.

I've got major problems with the London to Brighton route aswell. For me, the signals and AWS ramps don't appear (meaning that there are no signals -eek!), some assets aren't textured and appear as plain white, the whistle doesn't work....not impressed!

I played it just now, I really like the new update! I played a scenario on London to Brighton earlier and didn't seem to have any problems.

Also I like how you can mix together unrealistic lines and trains; I just ran an Acela Express down the Woodhead route at 140mph+, couldn't resist it

Fixed the signals on London to Brighton by clearing the cache, just go to settings on the main menu then tools and the option is there. Worked for me hopefully work for anyone else with that problem.

I had a few random crashes (and a few repeatable ones too!) but pretty much all solved if you go to Steam and "validate the cached files" - might take some time; on mine it found 40 out of sync...

Since then, worked like a charm. If you have Amstrong Powerhouse's class 142 you'll need to get the latest download as it corrects a rendering problem (its marked as v1 but somewhere in the install you'll see v1.01 as the version number - it is the latest download).

Overall RW2013 seems to run faster, at least I've doubled framerates and now seeing anything from 45 to 70-80 up from 20-30 before...

On London to Brighton I'm still having horn issues when inside the cab, and problems with the doors not showing as opened. (this is after clearing cache)

Actually I've noticed that the horn works in external views just not in the cab...

The 158's I had downloaded seemed to have dissapeared, and now no interface as far as I can see for adding expansion packs manually

Agreed, it does seem quicker overall - I can now run WCML on my laptop for the first time since I bought it 12 months ago!

You're not the only one!

My VT 390 has too, so I probably need to reinstall the patch for it

Was it from the Steam Store?

Apparently it's there, somewhere, but I have no idea how to get to it.

Yes it was from the steam store. Still shows up the package while in editior mode, then ticked the box, but rolling stock still not available. This is on the Bristol - Exeter Route

Yeah, I just tried it and you're right. The 158 shows up in the scenarios it's already in though for me, if I run them.

The 158 seems to have been removed from the Steam Store. What does that mean if for some reason I need to re-download it? I can't?

The horn button works when not in the cab..... for me anyway. Maybe 377 cabs just have amazing soundproofing!

Certain items are currently temporarily unavailable because they reference the original Kuju couplings. As the process of 2013 means that Kuju content isnt provided as default to a new user, these couplings have to be re-pathed and reuploaded.

As an existing user, you don't need to worry. The Class 158 is linked to your Steam account so any redownload (actually verify cache or reinstall) would always take the latest version so you will still get them.

Oh, ok. Thanks. :)

Why are there always loads of problems when train sim update anything?

Maybe for you. It's a rather sweeping statement if you claim there are loads of problems for everyone.

I think there is something what most people don't take into account. For the vast majority, especially those with either vanilla installs or only official DLC, there is rarely an issue.

On the other hand, there are now tens of thousands of users. Of those tens of thousands of users, a percentage will not only have DLC, they will have files from "unofficial" sources, much of which is modifications of files, whether that be routes, reskins or sound packs. It's near impossible that any of these Railworks installs are identical. Add that to a large proportion of users having completely different system specifications.

Despite these millions of permutations, people still expect everything to just work out of the box, despite them having files that are under no control whatsoever?

I meant it more about the problems with the horn etc. Little things that didn't really need to be fiddled with.

I doubt they wanted to change the horn especially! It's just when a big update takes place, some little things go a bit wobbly and it takes a bit of time to put them right I guess. It's to be expected.
