Excellent line up there, apart from my only concerns are the lack of tables on their Mk1s. Where have the all gone??? The 2005 timetable was rather infrequent too...

Didn't bother me too much as I walked the 3.5 miles from Goathland to Grosmont (Rail Trail) after the second last train had dropped me off. By the time that had gone to Pickering again and to Grosmont I was waiting on the platform for it. In that respect it was an ideal timetable

Two things spring to mind here! Firstly, you've clearly not trained him properly (sod the rule book...that's the first unwritten rule ) - and, more importantly, you mean your signalbox doesn't have a kettle hock: .

I do try to train him Tom, honest, but he is just totally useless. He's clearly got no respect for me, always answering back, always sucking up to management "Yes Bob, i'll do that for you Bob, of course Bob, i value your efforts Bob..."

He should be walking the length banging in keys, oiling the points and making the tea.

I also associate myself with a rather dodgy lot based at Coventry, the leader is definetly dodgy 8)

I used to be a member of the SPRS, but need to renew my membership as i haven't done so in a while lol.. In 2005 i was more of a publiciser and supporter of the railway, having started an add-on for msts to raise money for the railway and publicising my photographs to encourage people to go an see the wonderful railway.
This year i plan to renew my membership, take more photographs and actually work on the railway, having offered up my spare time now to help in some way or another. 2006 should be great

I'm general maintenance for the Class Forty Appeal's 37314 Dalzell, D212 Aureol and 50007 Sir Edward Elgar and am a general volunteer for the Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust and can mostly be found labouring away on 6233 Duchess of Sutherland. I'm based at the Midland Railway Butterley.

Station staff at Kidderminster on the Severn Valley Railway which is now rates THE best in the UK as we have Quality Assured Visitor Award winner of 2007. Yet i'm the only one on the forum that works here

I'm not a volenteer at a railway, but I volenteer at the East Anglia Transport Museum near Lowestoft, which runs Trams, Trolleybuses and a 2ft Industrial Railway on site, aswell as heritage buses off site on events. I work as a conductor on all the vehicles, both onsite and off, (except one tram which I've not been passed on yet since until this year it was hardly ever used) aswell as a guard on the railway, aswell as helping out with other things as required. Sadly it's 150miles from where I live, so I don't get over anything like as often as I would like, but have just got back from a weekend over there. I'm hoping to start driver training on something in the near future, but again it's a time factor, particularly since training is usually around 10 hours, sometimes more, and of cource you have to be there at the same time as someone who can train you, and it can only be done when the museum is closed to the public (yet no work is taking place that prevents vehicles running).

Kidderminster is a stunning station and I have to agree it's probably the best looking preserved one in the UK.

I keep promising myself to go down and take a look, but finding time is difficult - maybe when my exams are over and I have 3 months off.

I could in theory volunteer, but the branch line feel really isn't for me.
