Hi. I want to buy a magazine subscription for my 13 year old son and am after recommendations. Hes into all aspects of modern UK rail especially hi-speed, freight and general plans for the future etc. He has some interest in heritage and also foreign (again he prefers foreign hi-speed and freight to other stuff). Hes interested in infrastructure, whats happened to train operating companies etc. Hes not too bothered about history. Hes a busy lad and doesnt have much time so Im not after a publication with loads of pages and in-depth articles hell spend all his time reading them and not getting on with his school work... Ive had a look at a few in the newsagents. Railway Magazine looks too involved. Railways Illustrated looks nearer the mark. All recommendations and comments gratefully received.
