Railway Infrastructure and construction techniques

Hi, I'm currently doing some research and i'm stuck oh the actual meaning of the term 'Railway Infrastructure'? i am also looking for different construction techniques, used in the Railway Industry, to explore and find out about. Can anyone help me please? Thank you
