The class 28 was the unsuccessful Co-Bo.
5 axles therefore 10 wheels.

I think it was D6121 or 6122. There seems to be some doubt as the paint has worn off the cab and a number one different has been revealed: it could be just a cab swap, or an identity swap or just a muck up. I think it went via Hither Green.
As Gloster states there is some doubt about which locomotive this actually was. Officially it was D6122 which after withdrawal was sent to Hither Green for rerailing exercises and afterwards sent to Woodhams, Barry for scrap but the works plates suggested that it could have been D6121. See attached article from the RCTS website.
So are you going to choose one of these-if so which?

I’ll go for the one that started as D6121 and ended as D6122. But it is doubtful if anyone really knows and can prove it.
D6122 was the answer I was looking for and seems to be the “official” position.

…this is correct. Met-Vic also did the conversion from gas-turbine to AC, but at their Bowesfield Works, rather than Trafford Park, where it had been built.
