Going to guess platform 1,
if that is one nearest buildings in train shed, before they started adding bay platforms at the ends in 1860s (or whenever it was)

I wasn't thinking as far back as the 1860s - just before the most recent renumbering when the current platforms 5-8 were built. So I have no idea if your answer is correct or not, sorry.

I'm ending this due to lack of interest...
It was Platform 7, the last of the bay platforms at the east end of the station. There used to be another six, funnily enough.

I believe Jackson or his estate or something similar bought the back catalogue of The Beatles. Is it something related to that? Did they end buying some of BTF stuff by mistake (seriously clutching at straws here)?

It would be interesting to see Michael Jackson moonwalking across Waterloo concourse in Terminus but it’s not to be.
He did walk across the concourse at Exeter st David’s (I’m not sure if he moonwalked though).
Is it related to that?

I can’t remember the details, but didn’t a later famous director, possibly John Schlesinger, do a BTP film called Jeremy’s Day Out, or something like that? Presumably he later did something for Michael Jackson.

Ok,this seems to be getting about as much interest as the BTF film Robbie got at school assembly (bonus point if you remember that) so here’s the answer.
The connection is Robert (Bob) Poynter. Early in his career he was a cameraman at BTF. Among the films he worked on was the classic Snowdrift At Bleath Gill. Later in his career he worked with the likes of Michael Winner and John Landis. The latter directed the video for Thriller by Michael Jackson where Robert Poynter was the cinematographer!
