Hello again,I've thought of a question so have returned to the front window for a bellow. Probably easy but which class 25 could be seen at Wolverhampton Low Level station in the early to mid 1980s?

Ok I’m going to have a punt at 25131 which was also on the departmental books as 97202 (not sure if it carried the number though).
Haven’t got a clue to be honest.

Not 25185 in afraid.
I always thought the loco in question was a bit of a minor celebrity at the time. We always looked out for it when passing through High Level.

I’m thinking either an early preserved example or one that had a livery variation.
25067?

Well done sir. 25067 was kept at Wolverhampton Low Level from mid June 1983 until early July 1984. Not my photo. Over to you.........
Oh blimey. That’s a great photo.

Ok, let’s have a follow up question, probably quite easy. It’s a four parter...

1) It went somewhere next, where was that?
2) Where did it then go after that?
3) On the second leg of its journey what other loco was it hooked up to in convoy?
4) Finally, what loco dragged the convoy of two locomotives to their new home?

Any more than 2 out of 4 correct will be considered. ;)

Having the info already I won't jump in on this one :)
I think it’s perfectly reasonable for you to answer it @Ashley Hill as you obviously know the answer because it’s in your memory bank, and also because there’s been no takers so I’m starting to feel uncomfortable now.

No (thanks for trying though ), I suppose a good clue would be that we’re talking about around 1985 and just after.

I think I’ll give the answer to move things on.
It was moved to Swindon to be displayed at the GWR 150 celebrations that were cancelled, it was then taken along with 27007 to the Mid Hants.

Open floor everyone.
