Keeping the theme of a previous question if you could charter a train & assuming no route, knowledge issues, fuel, drivers hours issues etc list the 5 longest non stop journeys it is possible to do by narrow gauge railway in the UK.

This doesn't include very small park railways, airport shuttles, monorails or temporary engineering railways which are part of a construction project.

1) Ffestiniog / Welsh Highland: Blaenau Ffestiniog -- Porthmadog -- Caernarfon or opposite direction, one way: 38 miles.

2) RHDR: Hythe -- Dungeness (round the balloon loop) -- Hythe: 28 miles.

3) Vale of Rheidol, one way between Aberystwyth and Devils Bridge: 11-and-three-quarter miles.

4) Welshpool & Llanfair, one way between Raven Square and Llanfair Caereinion: 8-and-a-half miles.

5) Talyllyn,. one way between Towyn (Wharf) and Nant Gwernol: 7-and-a-quarter miles.

It was issued at the closed station for one of the hop pickers specials.
It is very, very rare to find a second class BR ticket from a station on the Kent & East Sussex Railway. Because third class was abolished and became second class in 1955 after the line closed. Any tickets from when the line was open are normally third class (or first class).

You're all-correct, "so far as". A clue: the LMS had trackage on both of the two major islands of our island group.
