Yes - it was due for withdrawal and scrapping but somebody at BR realised it might not be such a good idea to do so only a month or two after the plaque had been added to the nose at some expense as Tulyar had not been given one as all other locomotives had

Although there are many saddletanks still around- name two places you can see examples with a leading bogie & the manufacturers names.

The two I was thinking of are outside the UK and one is operational. Linda and Blanche were rebuilt as Saddle Tender Tanks.

A 2-4-0ST would have a leading pony truck - not a bogie. Can we clarify just what is meant by the question ?

Any sort of unpowered leading wheelset will do.

Well the latest issue of Narrow Gauge World has a picture of a 2-4-2ST in Delhi Railway Museum.

A couple of clues- one which is non operational was UK built and now resides in Spain & there are plenty of another type across the pond built by one of their largest loco manufacturers- one I know is operational.

Sorry completely forgot. The one in Spain is unique 1899 Sharp Stewart 2-6-0 ST 'Puchetta' which is in the excellent national railway museum in Madrid. I am sure there are others but in the USA there are quite a few of these ALCO 2-6-2 ST's. Built as switchers many ended their working lives with lumber companies and other industrial outfits. One that is operational is Robert Dollar Lumber Co. No.3. As no one got it- open floor.

Indeed - they went to the trouble of filming a braking scene which none of the characters could have seen from inside the train simply because they wanted to show off their mock-up.

This might be a little bit tricky for most though I can think of one forum member who should get this instantly...
If you wanted to go on holiday by train to a shallow sandy beach which includes a still-surviving military seaplane access ramp which saw active service in World War One*, to which station would you need to ask for a ticket?

Brian - I don't remember Newhaven as having a sandy beach, though...
However you are much warmer than the earlier entry of Plymouth was. So keep moving in the right direction...
