No. They all survived the event I'm thinking of, although some of their opponents didn't - partly due to the weather.

The sites of two London railway depots that were very important to their respective lines as recently as the 1980s are now blocks of flats but the main lines they served are both still in operation and busier than ever.

Which two depots were they?

No - neither of those sites are now a block of flats are they? As it'll be another day before I'm online again, I'll give a couple of clues:

One of them is within sight of a football ground; the answer may have been wrong but was certainly along the right lines...

The other has been relocated twice following the sale of the original site which is the subject of the question.

The site of Bricklayers Arms depot and sidings complex closed in 1981 is now covered by a mixture of industrial units/ flats and houses.
The massive girder bridge over Rotherhithe New Road still stands but is the only recognisable railway infrastructure remaining. It is sited a short distance from Millwall FC ground.

The other one, the one that has been relocated twice, shouldn't be too hard to get... Perhaps if I say the second relocation also saw it get a new name which could possibly cause confusion with a much larger complex on a different line nearby...???

Ooh I must have missed that one! But it did seem to fit (vaguely) your recent clue regarding the larger complex.

Oh dear, I'd better clarify that a bit.

The new name of the depot facility could cause confusion with the name of a larger railway complex not far away but on a different line.

So... aside from that ↑↑↑↑↑ you are looking for a depot that was quite important to the line it was on as recently as the 1980s, was closed and replaced with a nearby depot of the same name which has itself been closed and relocated with a new name ( as above ). The original site now has flats on it.

(the site of Stratford depot is somewhere under the 2012 Olympic Park)
(but a clue was after Stratford "...aside from that.." as Temple Mills is aside Stratford)
Temple Mills Depot closed in 1983 and again in 2007 but name now taken by new Eurostar Depot on a different line)
