None of them required a reversal !!
They used different company's metals:-
The route via Hooley Hill [avoiding Guide Bridge], was LNW;
The route via Guide Bridge used MS&L metals from Guide Bridge;
The route via Droylesden used L&Y metals from Droylesden.
You could also go through three different stations serving Ashton-under-Lyne:-
Dukinfield & Ashton on the LNW line via Hooley Hill;
Ashton Park Parade on the MS&L line via Guide Bridge;
& Ashton Charlestown on the L&Y route via Droylesden.
