Didcot and Southampton Airport.
Forgot - Port Talbot is still a parkway but the Parkway tag may be dropped soon.

Correct so far, but I believe there are 2 more.

Luton Airport & Haddenham & Thame?

[Thinking about it, Luton Airport is not technically a "parkway" as you're not going to drive there to catch a train - rather you'd alight from the train there to catch a plane!]

Haddenham & Thame Parkway wasn't the one I was looking for as it was mainly re-built as a parkway station for Thame that just happens to be in Haddenham. There is another one which is basically in the middle of the town.

Please see my post above.

As a Welsh man, I'm surprised you haven't got the one I was thinking of...

Thank you. :)

However, as D6975 has given 2 of the correct answers and martinsh 1 without needing the hints and clues you've kindly given me, I think the honours should go to one of them.

OK - you've twisted my arm. :)

Continuing your "Parkway" theme, let's turn the question around and ask:-

Which station was originally designated a Parkway, but is now no longer?

Yes!

I was originally thinking of Alfreton & Mansfield which was a Parkway until the Robin Hood line was reopened.

But I asked only for one, and you've now offered one I hadn't though of, so, back to you. :)

Good call, had forgotten about that one.

OPEN FLOOR

I've come up with a question:

Which was the first new station to be opened in the 1970s?

Fair call, but as I've found out before, the person to get teh last one right has been declared winner even though I've done the donkey work (47 of 51 English cities only to be thwarted with Ely at teh death...)
