Actually, 47125 was scheduled to be converted to 47548, but it never came about, and the number wasn't re-used. Then, a bit later, 47125 was scheduled again to become 47666, but, perhaps fortunately, that never came about either. Isn't that interesting?

I think there have been top n tail 47s on the Far North and to Kyle, probably not on a service train.

I think there were a couple of cases, I think there was at least a peak and a brush 4. Possibly others too.

It is possible that Penoline aren't cleared via Man Vic, however it would still be possible to drag an 87 and hauled set that way. The route I am looking for is now banned to all AC electric traction being dragged.

Correct. The clearance between the pan on a 91 (or other leccy) and the metty OHLE would be tight and could in theory result in a bang. Though it has happened before due to a control error (essentially they didn't realise they were no longer cleared).
