Could anyone enlighten me? Came across a rail line chair today (1946) and it had HW&co on it, Im guessing Haarland Wolfe casting, am I far off?

Might be Head Wrightson & Co. Ltd.

Think they were based up in the Thornaby area in the North East and were operational until the 1980's.

Could be Henry Williams now based in Darlington.

However, Just goggled found this example and the chair is certainly credited to Head Wrightson as Mcr Warrior suggests.
