Hi All

Wondering if anybody could help me with this, I have what I think is a old railway cart. Now I could be wrong, but it looks similer to some on google images.

It does need restoring, lots of the wood has rotted & it is in 2 bits, but wondered if it is to do with the railway & is it worth keeping or fit for the bin. Hope you can tell by the picture below..Thanks

Could be Post Office off a station.

Yes thats an old Post Office barrow that was used on stations to get the mail sacks from the van to the train,s guards van back in the days when a lot of the post went by rail from station to main station. When it used to be a proper joined up railways system.

I think there is quite a lot of it missing or rotted away over the years, how many years since post travelled on local trains now?

Oh i remember those trolleys. Always provided a useful seating area when on a station spotting...until the postie wanted it. Watched many times as the posties struggled across the barrow crossing from the Up platform to the Down side.
