Right next to Camden Market in London is this popular railway bridge, but I have never seen a train go past on it, what exactly is it used for and is there any videos of a train actually going past it?

It’s carrying the line that connects Camden Road NLL to the WCML through the closed Primrose Hill station, there should be a fair number of freight trains crossing it, but the only time you can get a passenger working over it would be during engineering work diversions. The girder bridge itself is relatively high sided, is it possible a loco and containers might be lower than the sides of the bridge?

But here’s a link to RTT showing tomorrow’s freight services, a huge number are Q paths and run as required, but there’s plenty of trains, and last thing at night there’s a few LO empty stock transfers towards Willesden depot.

here’s a cab ride video of the route, heading west, skip to 12:00 for Camden Road station, and stop at 12:56 and you’ll be on the bridge:

I suggest using Primrose Hill freight as a YouTube search term.

It is the connection between the North London Line at Camden Road station to the WCML at Camden Junction, via Primrose Hill. Itis used only by non-passenger services in normal operation, passenger services only occasionally during engineering works, and the very occasional charter.

About 80 trains a day planned across it (plus some duplicate paths), and about half of them run. There was one half an hour ago, and the next one is due across at 2158.

Update: freight train about to pass over right now. 6M87 Harlow to Wembley.

The 15mph speed limit over that bridge westbound must be a pain for capacity at Camden Road.
Bit unusual to see a palm tree between the lines right next to the west end of the middle girder!
Once had lunch in the restaurant under the canopy/tent-like thing on the building just to the south west right next to the line. Lovely except for the cl66 sitting noisily right outside for five minutes!
