Railway Auctions - UKLines

I'm pleased to say that following some more work on UKLines over the last couple of weeks, a couple of new features have been introduced to the site.

One of these is an auction service where people can buy and sell the things they no longer want or have a need for.

As with the bigger name in internet auctions, there are listing fees associated with placing an ad based on starting price (but unlike eBay, there is no commission on final sale price and, as such, some initial listing fees may be a bit higher than what you'd pay on eBay), and payments are made secure by the use of Paypal - which also gives both the buyer and seller protection should things go wrong.

There are already some items for sale on there including old timetables and a new release of Jordy's - a Trent Valley DVD, which he has been putting together for a while now. A preview clip is available on the associated listings.

So feel free to take a look around, to bid on items, and sell some of your own stuff! Follow the links from www.uklines.net .

Yes indeed, there are more details on the site but there is a big variety of stuff to be seen, most of it is freight (Including 86s 90s 92s and 56s along with the normal 60s and 66s!) so you're not just buying a DVD full of Pendolinos!

What are the listing fees like?

I wanna sell something, but have nothing to sell.

! If you click the 'Site Fees' button at the top of the home page all the fees will be displayed

They are dependent on starting price (not on length of auction) and the least is 25p (if your starting price is less than a quid) then vary in percentage until capped at £3 (if you want to sell something very expensive!).

The advantage being no percentage of the final sale is taken, so if you sell something for a lot of money the very very maximum you'd pay is £3, and thats only if your starting price is above £100!

If you start at below £1 the maximum you'll ever pay is 25p no matter what price the item sells for!
