Railway art

Hi gents,

Since I am new to this forum I shall introduce myself;

My name is Nick Naethuijs, male, 18 years old and currently in service of the Dutch Airforce (well, 6th of April my study starts).

I want to become an aviation artist, but railway art has got it's charmes as well. I only drew one train to date, the mighty Challenger, but I am also working on some new ones.

It took me about 22 hours to complete. Drawn with regular Derwent 3B pencils on 8''x11'' heavyweight drawing paper ( A4 size).

Would be great if I could make a living out of selling originals and prints of railway drawings. I just love it!

Welcome to the forum. I'm LilLoaf.

I just wish i could draw. Have you by any chance looked into modern art at all. I'm not thinking off sticking a load of stones in a line and calling it "art" or anything silly like that. I was thinking more of modern colour drawings, not sure weather you were planning to add colour to your drawing (not that it needs it looks really good already).

Graffiti art is also quite populer in the UK though not with many people on here, we've had the graffiti art debate before but you probably didn't see that thread if you've just joined us. Its something i quite like and makes for intersting things to be painted in bright colourfull colours. Well if your into art i expect you know what it is. Maybe you could try and draw a train in graffiti art style (ON PAPER) don't head to the nearest wall. Just an idea for you.

Well, I might be able to draw, but I am not that artistic

I kinda like realism, though I like it when you can see it's a drawing, not having to wonder if it is a photograph or a drawing.

Never tried grafiti before, seen it a lot of times on wall's of course.
