What have you admins got in store for us?

Anyone else seeing these 'ads'?

RUK is taking over ticket selling from ATOC.

The new regime will be offering a premium service to forum members where if you have trouble with a ticket seller Yorkie will appear and give the seller instant training on the subject at hand.

DaveNewcastle will be heading up Revenue protection, and RJ will be in charge of mystery shopping.

I can confirm everything in Michael's post is 100% correct. I am also pleased to announce that the moderators have collectively had a brainstorm and will be launching a time machine shortly. :D

I heard RailUK has secretly started construction of HS2, using advanced tunnelling techniques to sneak right under the noses (and gardens) of the anti-HS2 brigade. All of this is being paid for by a sudden spike in Google AdSense revenue.

I'm also told that it will in fact be open to forum members by 2020 and operated as a private network (so don't tell anyone else). The entrance will be from Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross, which will then take you by a hidden travelator to the temporary HS2 station under Euston.

Anyone who doesnt stay within the 'rules' of the ticket, will be banned for a year and will recieve an infraction on their general passenger profile.
The Automatic moderator will PM your ass to high hell if you dont obey the set route.

Is that to help ToCs arrive on time?

Yeah, but not the fact it's actually already open and that was just a red herring...

Oh, wait.

D'oh.

Can you dumb it down so I can understand it ;)

Yes, Ryan they are, but they will close off registration, and make the general public pay more for tickets.

Wouldn't forum member's ticket prices fall at a rate above inflation every year :D

Either that or we get a RailUK 50% off railcard? :D

I only get Gatwick Express adverts :(

The only adverts I'm getting are Gatwick Express, Austin Reed and that one about how dermatologists hate this woman. (I think the latter is because of a virus on my laptop as I see it on all websites)

I wonder if adblock plus might be the cause. It's installed on the work machines but not my home PC (mainly because I do need to manage my blog/youtube earnings and ABP blocks the Adsense Server)

I use Adblock Plus but RailUK is whitelisted so I still see all ad's.

Just noticed this topic, having already fired of a PM to the staff. Typical!

Somehow I doubt the style change is all; perhaps the tip of the iceberg…

Can anyone help me out? If I go from the "Traction & Rolling Stock" subforum to the "Infrastructure & Stations" via the main "UK Railway Forums" link at the top of the screen, does this count as doubling back?

I hold a season ticket from "Traction & Rolling Stock" as far as "Allocations, Diagrams & Timetables", but as I won't actually be stopping there, I don't know whether this is valid?

Can anyone help me out? . . . .
It will not be possible for anyone on this forum to give a straight answer to a straight question unless you firstly provide the 2-digit code number on the bottom right of the reverse of your mother's birth certificate and also the exact wording you used when joining this forum and the date and time of submitting your application.
I will generously assume that you had entered into a formal contract with the forum before making the interchange between the sub-fora to which you've now quite openly admitted having traversed. (An intervening post in the quizz section would not, obviously, have disbarred your transition.)
Other members might not be able to assist until you provide us with the livery of the clothes you were wearing at the time, the model number of your shoes, whether or not you were wearing a hat and the number of holes in your belt, and, of course, whether or not you had a reservation for your return transition to the home page (or a season ticket loaded onto your Blockbuster (now Morrisons) loyalty card, renewed within the last 6 months, from the date of last forum posting).

It's quite impossible to even consider your difficulty until you become completely immersed in an inescapable world of intractible numerical, logical and utterly irrelevant detail.

Help? No.
Solution? Maybe. It depends.
Other people's personal experiences which are quite irrelevant bt which will be posted on some thread or other? Inevitable.
Banners? Ask google.

This is sounding almost as bad as the trip to a forum meal :P
