As promised Darlo lounge. One thought I've had is, would it be possible to make the pictures link through to larger versions (perhaps host them on flickr?) as they're quite small and you can't really see any detail?

I am not sure I get the buy in icons-Wakefield shows that it's over £10 to buy in but wouldn'ta Wakefield to Leeds FDS at £3.60 get access into the lounge there.

It seems OK from my end. Images I see are "Wi-Fi Free", "APEX Restricted (red dot)", "Under £10 (blue dot)". Anyone else getting the same as premier01?

Also not sure whether it's clear on EMT's STP lounge - "APEX not valid after 1600" however a £5 supplement can be paid (An exception is London St Pancras International where after 1600 First Advance ticket holders will have a charge of £5), unless I missed something :)

I'm reading it as the restriction on free APEX entry is it's not allowed after 16:00. As a separate entry I have the Lounge Pass which I haven't put a time restriction on. I will have a re-think on the wording and update it.

Cheers for the photo, I'll get that updated now. That's something that has been suggested before and something I am considering. I am waiting until things have settled with the layouts and wait for more photos before uploading image links. I am planning a direct link from each guide to a mini page with a rough map and various user submitted comments/images but this is all in the dream stage.

Nope, the Wakefield definitely has the blue dot meaning to me that the buy-in is below £10

I understand, just a difference in the way we read it then!

It was my mistake with the Wakefield lounge-must have been looking at the APEX icon!

The St Pancras lounge allows customers to enter the lounge after 16:00 for £5-saw the notice when I was there yesterday-so would be good to show that.

Thanks for that, Virgin is looking very colourful on the guide now!

I'll try to remember to take my camera with me the next time I visit Coventry and add that one as well.

And here it is.

I just read that the new Lounge at KGX has artefacts from the NRM in it. Anything interesting?

Is there any possibility you could remove the tags and just leave a url?

Cheers,

I didn't notice any artefacts there. I was there a week after the opening and nothing caught my eye. Nevertheless it is a nice lounge with a direct view of platforms.

That's odd. I read it here:

Finished in a striking range of lime green and aubergine decor, the lounge took 12 months to create. It features displays showcasing a range of artefacts loaned by the National Railway Museum, while pieces of artwork depicting the station’s heritage, by artist Anne Howeson, adorn the walls.

Actually when I think about it, there was a something behind a glass next to the newspaper rack.
It didn't catch my interest obviously.

Maybe the artefacts are only available to view on certain days, and only to passengers going beyond Peterborough?

I have a picture of the lounge at Runcorn. There is a TV on the wall to the right of departure display - I've not seen one in a lounge before.

This completes the Virgin list (Coventry is at #188 above).

It looks quite good for such a small station.

I don't know about the new one, but they had a TV showing BBC News iirc in the temporary one at King's Cross.

If we're on the subject of TVs, I'll just chip in that Newcastle have a small (CRT, IIRC) TV always showing Sky News, and Sheffield have quite a nice TV usually showing BBC One :)

Thanks for that and thanks everyone who helped contribute to Virgin!

Not much of an update tonight. All lounge notes are done apart from East Mids Parkway, which I will get round to doing this weekend, and Eurostar, which I am still playing with since this deserves more.

XC - I am not sure what will become of the old Edinburgh lounge/reception so this will remain a void until further notice.

VT - I am debating whether to extend the Euston lounge by a few blocks to include the bar with prices and brands. Views on this idea please?

Looking good! I'd extend the Virgin entry as you suggest.

Edinburgh Waverley EC lounge has a good TV (and a lovely cleaner).

I used the Euston lounge last week. The bar prices have gone up since last time i was there, it's now £3.00 for most drinks.

I'm thinking of doing a COV-BHI buy-in on a Saturday afternoon.

What sort of cold drinks are available at each lounge? Are they sealed (e.g. cans/bottles, or help yourself to a cup?) Am I likely to get snacks (e.g. crisps) at that time of day?

Also, what sort of things could I get from the buffet/trolley during the 11 minute journey?

Basically, I'm trying to work out whether to pay the £2.30 or just go to a shop.

I think £2.30 is very good value and you could easily get a hot drink, a couple of cold drinks and likely some snack such as biscuits, crisps etc. Some lounges even have packets of olives that retail for 99p in Tesco!

From my experience, there is unlikely to be a trolley run between BHI and COV, but there may well be a hot drinks run and the staff would happily serve you one on request, maybe even with some biccys.

I wouldnt rely on Coventry lounge at the moment, i was in there Yesterday and they had nothing....

Only the coffee machine. No soft drinks, biscuits or crisps.

Birmingham International on the other hand is always stocked up.
