RailUK donation to a preservation project: the voting!

Thank you to everyone who posted a project in the suggestions thread. The forum staff have considered all of the suggestions and below are those that from the information we have been provided meet the requirements.

As a reminder in our first giveaway the Great Central Railway's Bridge to the Future won, and in our second our winners were the Swindow Panel Society and again Bridge to the Future.

This year's contenders, in no particular order:

Voting will be open from Saturday 11 March until the end of Saturday 18 March.

This vote of confidence is one that has rarely been seen before in the tiny world of EMU preservation. All too often these workhorses are quietly lost to railway history. Your members are helping to make sure that 3417 avoids such an ignominious fate and allow it to be seen, and used as it was meant to be used, on private lines - and the national network - for many years to come.

Alothiugh I voted for the Swanage Wareham project, which came in a close fourth, I would like to say congratulations to all three winners especially 4VEP SETG in first place.

Southern Region EMUs may not be the sexiest trains in the world but they are hugely important workhorses, as has been pointed out upthread.

Here's to the future preservation of a networker set when they go in 15-20 years.
