via Great Yarmouth now.

2 x NR 97/3s will work Shrewbury - Aber and return for ERTMS requirements.

Thanks both, just copied that from the current TRUK in case people didn't want to access the links

There is a sort of Saturday tour not listed above:

The R'n'B 1 - SF - Paddington-Euston via Lymington Pier and Bourne End. It sets off from Paddington at 2007 on Friday and gets into Euston at 0426 on Saturday! 2 x WC 37s IIRC.

Off on the Spitfire Routes & Branches 1 all-nighter tomorrow . I hope I can keep awake and see anything ! Still it gets dark late and light early now. Pity they had to cut the St Albans Abbey part. Anyone else going?

Anyone know if there is anything special going anywhere near the vacinity of Manchester Piccadilly?

The Lakes & Borders Explorer is running from Eastleigh to Carlisle via Nuneaton so I'm thinking that its going to run through Wigan North Western. I don't have the exact timings but I'm guessing that on the outbound it will pass around 10:20-11:00 and on the return sometime between 17:00 and 18:00.

I don't know how good that would be to you, it's the closing thing running to me so I'm going. If anyone else can dig up a better time or routing that would be swell.

Ian I don't know if this is any good to you but the Lakes and Borders (Eastleigh - Carlisle) is scheduled to pass through Wigan North Western on Saturday (16th) at 10:48 on the outbound and 18:05 on the return.

I'm planning on going for the 18:05, not decided which platform though as I think I'm due to get bowled soon...

I posted earlier but it didn't work, managed to find the proper timings now.

What were the numbers as I passed it on a voyager between BMH and SOA saw it but could not get numbers?

I didn't make it to Wigan unfortunately. Were you onboard Trev?

However fortune can smile upon me occasionally, I'm going this Saturday as 3 47's are in the vicinity (I think).

"The Lakelander" is heading from Llandudno to Carnforth behind a 47 before being switched to steam. Then "The Mid Cheshire Scot" is running with two 47s T&T. All are scheduled to be WCRC loco's.

I don't know the routing of the Lakelander but logic would put it passing through Wigan NW on both legs. The MCS though will be going through Stalybridge on the outbound to Edinburgh and then heading along the WCML on the return, I think that it may come off north of Wigan and run through Leyland then Bolton though to Stockport. (So I may have to travel for that one).

I've recently joined the Railtour GEN and it's great for getting the exact routings (but only a few days in advance). There is also a handy website which lists future tours with some details too.
