It’s a shame the Irish Traction Grouo don’t run tours anymore, I had some great times and saw lots of Ireland with them.

Full details TBC, but provisionally, Táilte Tours will be organising a "Mini Railtour" at the Cavan & Leitrim Railway on Sunday 9th August using some of the line's diesel fleet (timed so as to be reachable by service train from Dublin).

Source: I'm the organiser :)

I hope to have full details next week.

Nice one, I wonder if many will do it due to the fact there is an RPSI diary date for the day before

We're heading to the Cavan & Leitrim Railway again, this time for a dose of diesel. We will travel from Dublin Connolly to Dromod on the 09:05 service train to Dromod. There, the Cavan & Leitrim Railway will be running some special diesel services, using ex-Bord na Móna traction, prior to opening to the public for their main running day.

We will return to Connolly on the afternoon service train, departing Dromod at 14:04 for an expected arrival in Connolly of 16:12.

Apologies, I have been tardy in my promised update for the Sun 9th August outing.

C&L have a limited amount of diesel locos certified for passenger use, it is hoped to use LM114 and LM384, the later newly restored and yet to work a passenger train in preservation.

I understand the RPSI are running a mainline GM tour on the Saturday, so a good excuse for a diesel weekend in Ireland.
