Railtalk Magazine, Now Landscape

Dear all,

This message is to let you know that Issue 21 of Railtalk Magazine is now available to download.

You will probably notice from as soon as you open the magazine that there has been a big change. The magazine is now in landscape format. The optimized way to read the new magazine is to open it in your PDF reader, and then choose to view in full screen.

As always this is your magazine, so please can we have some feedback, with your views on our new layout.

However, this does not mean that the file size has increased, and if you have broadband, we do recommend the high resolution version, at just over 35Mb.

There is however, the standard version still available at about 13.5MB.

I like the landscape format. I never print it, and always save a copy to my laptop and then read it on the move using Adobe Reader. So landscape is a big bonus for me - no more scrolling up and down

My resolution is 1024x768 and it's fine in that resolution, however some of the text could be a little difficult to read for some people, although I have no problems. I would suggest using a similar font to that used in the 'Charter scene' for the rest of the mag.

But the only problem that seems to be coming out atm, is that there are a lot of people that don't have widescreen and large monitors.

It's rather narrow on a widescreen, the ratio of it must be closer to 4:3

Excellent - thanks for all the work you've put in! The size and ratio of the pages works fine for me.

Just one thing to note though - it's Bridgnorth (no "e"!) (page 44).

It's 4:3 ratio which is NOT widescreen.

And it looks best when viewed full screen (Ctrl-L in Adobe Reader) :grin:

Really do like the new look, wish a few more online mag producers took it onboard.

Must remember to download and not view it with the firefox plugin tho
