Great stuff, is it three rail? I had about 13 tinplate metal plank wagons a little while ago I bought thinking they'd work on my layout but didn't realise they were for 3 rail track. Sold them now

the stud under the battery box tells you its 3rd rail :D
i swapped all my nylon and steel dublo and triang plastic wheels for 12 or 14mm jackson scale wheels so have boxes off spare wheels handy ;)

It’s a remarkably well proportioned model considering how old it is.
There’s a bit of me that’s imagining the comforting weight of the thing just before I place it on the track.... ;)

the 20 met vic28 deltic55 where quite daft model because the pivot is at roof level so with traction tires the load would tend lift off the front axle in direction off travel so even though it had lead weights under the top connecting bar the load on the front wheels that would tend to "float" the wheels
it didnt matter too much as the driving wheels are wormed together but gave a quite jerky progress
because i used brass jackson wheels on nickle silver peco you dont get the lift so much so a more natural action but far less grip than traction tires but increased weight and brass wheels more worn to rail profile gives great adheasion
