Hi all,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, I normally just read rather than post on here but I have a question.
This morning I used the trainline app and bought tickets to travel from Manchester Piccadilly to Sankey for this afternoon. Then the return journey would be made on Monday morning around 6am.
The 16-25 railcard discount normally only applies to the Friday afternoon leg of the trip and the total cost would be £13.80.
Today, it was only £11.00. It seems that the return journey on Monday has the railcard discount applied to as well. But I thought discounts normally don't apply at this time of the morning?
I'm just wondering if this is just a one off/error/this is now the norm? I have checked what I booked with trainline and it's the exact same as I did on Wed when the cost was back to the £13 range.
Slightly off-topic but the Virgin Train ticket machines at Manchester Piccadilly are now printing them out with the simplified design, where there is less text on the card.
