Some of you may be finding that these programmes clash with popular shows on the main networks. On certain platforms (not Freeview), you will find a +1 hour version of The Travel Channel so that may give you more flexibility.

Next Tuesday 8.00pm ITV 1 there is a programme called "Emergency! Trains v Weather".

What does it take to keep Britain's railways running through some of the worst winter weather on record? This film follows the army of engineers and maintenance teams as they battle against the elements to keep the rail network open and prevent the delays that cause misery to millions of passengers every winter. Using the latest technology and sheer old-fashioned graft, they tackle floods, hurricane force winds and tracks buried under six feet of snow - not to mention the annual blight of leaves on the line. With millions depending on the trains every day, the maintenance teams are the unsung heroes of the rail network.

4 half hour episodes of 'Great European Rail Journeys' will be shown back to back on Sunday 22 November.
5pm Glasgow > Mallaig (Note that he boards a sprinter at Glasgow and says it is an electric commuter train. A pity more of the route to Fort William was not shown & no mention of crossing Rannoch Moor. Anyway things improve with the FW to Mallaig section).

5.30pm Oslo > Bergen (inc Flam).
6pm Vienna > Trieste.
6.30pm Budapest > Warsaw.

At 9pm, will be 'Tough Trains' = Arctic Russia.
