Hi All,

I had a terrible trip with TfW a month or so ago, and complained about my trip.

They sent me £20 of "Rail Travel Vouchers" as compensation.

The issue is, I live in Bromsgrove and I've never known the ticket office open (nor the shop for that matter).

I only ever travel between Bromsgrove and Wrexham, and always buy in advance.

So my question is, how can I redeem these vouchers?

The ticket office at Bromsgrove should be open 06:30-19:15 Monday-Saturday, but failing that the one at Wrexham definitely will be and can sell tickets in advance

If you always buy in advance, make use of any ticket office you may pass (e.g. Birmingham New Street, Hereford, Wrexham, etc.)

If the ticket office is shut (or there isn't one), you're entitled to use your Rail Travel Voucher to buy your ticket at the next available opportunity, which would usually be a ticket office at an intermediate or destination station.

Can WMR guards accept these? If so could you speak to one before you board and ask to buy a ticket from them if the ticket office is closed? If you take a Cross City line train, the guard will be changing ends.

I guess that doesn’t necessarily help if you’re looking for Advance tickets, unless the guard can also sell those.

Yes they can be accepted onboard. Unfortunately as you say they can't sell Advance tickets though.
