Hi - does anyone have any experience of where to go with the booking engine appears to be 'stuck'.

I'm trying to book 1 adult, 2 kids, family railcard on the 10.20 from Berwick upon Tweed to Glasgow. For over 24 hours now I can see 3 tickets at a price I want to pay but when you try to complete it says it can't allocate seat numbers.

this site shows, if I understand it correctly, that there are different brackets of advance ticket, so if one is sold out it should start to sell more at a higher price. This isn't happening.

it happens on every TOCs website that I've tried so it feels like it is the booking engine that is stuck.
I rang Cross Country who said they'd talk to their webteam but I didn't have any confidence they knew what was wrong.

Anyone know which organisation can help? National Rail Enquiries?

thanks, Kevin

Is it preventing you from booking the ticket? Or will it allow you to book it, just without seat reservations?

There appears to be no reservable seats left on that train. This means an advance ticket can not be sold. Probably all available reserved seats have been booked by people travelling from other stations. Probably travelling to Edinburgh festival.

Yes, prevents you booking. It is an advance fare so wants to allocate seats.

Ok, that's fair enough. Thank you.

It just seems odd that if there are no seats left to be sold that the booking engine doesn't only show the full price off peak / standard single/ return ticket prices
But is still trying to sell advance fares which can't be booked.

Will just use the car instead.
