Yesterday I bought 2 Kent Rovers at Feltham Station starting on the 29th May and finishing 31st May today at Slough I saw a notice saying that GWR had strikes on 31st I then checked South Eastern and found strike there, what can I do? Can I travel on 1st June?

I contacted South Eastern Railway to enquire as Rovers and Rangers are missing from ticket types that can be used 1 day before and up to 3 days after a strike.

After much preamble and listening to 6 options I eventually spoke to an overseas gentleman of which it was difficult having a conversation as my voice was repeating back to me loudly!!

He said yes of course Rovers could be used a day before and up to 3 days following a strike.

I asked him if the website could be updated to include Rovers and Rangers but I’m not sure if this coming from overseas will result in any update.

Please feel free to repeat the South Eastern Railway Telephone Customer Service Experience!!

The information in the GWR circular replicates the information in the RDG industry wide staff brief. For whatever reason they have not wanted to share the Rover and Ranger information publicly. But since somebody has posted the GWR thing now, I'll confirm it.

I guess they don't want to publicise it too much as it could get taken advantage of. E.g. if you had an All Line Rover ending on 31st May, someone could still use it on non-affected TOCs on 31st, then get two "bonus" days use on 1st and 2nd.
