Can anyone provide details of any catering or retail outlets (on stations or nearby) that will provide discount to rail staff to help out colleagues? The ones I find most usefull are:

AMT coffee: 10% discount (shame they ended the any drink for £1 for rail/bus/taxi staff offer)

West Cornwall pasty co: 10 or 20 % discount for rail staff (also pick up coffee loyalty card for buy 6 get 1 free) .. There bacon rolls in the morning are fab, and with the discount are often cheaper than the canteen charge!

Upper crust / ritazza / etc (ssp outlets): no discount to rail staff as such but 20% off with free bite card.

Puccinos: various.. He usually just says "just call it £1.30 mate" .. Depends on attendant.

Treats: as puccinos..

Anyone know any more?

A lot of the food outlets in pad will give a discount to staff in uniform. You usually have to ask for it

The new coffee kiosks on P6 (and P5 I think) at Crewe offer 50% discount on hot drinks.

Baguette du Monde on the Bullring link in Birmingham offer a discount - not sure of the exact discount but I seem to remember a £2.49 meal deal was reduced to £1.99 so not sure how that translates to other items.

I have never had a discount there and I have bought from them in uniform plenty of times. :(

Chances are if you ask for a discount at any railway food establishment, you might get something, but nothing if you don't ask. (a lot of these things you only get if you ask, worst they will do is say no :) )

How can anything have a 100% discount as it's pretty much free?

There is the Coffee shop on Platform 1 at Enfield Chase which is pretty decent and the muffins are tasty :)

Nooshi in the Bullring in Birmingham is a fab little place serving Japanese food. It's about 20 yards inside the door facing New St station.

Rail staff get 10% off, which ain't bad.

Burger King: 20% but usually have to ask
Eds Diner: 10%, again ask
Banger Brothers: Usually give discounts if seen in uniform
Harry Ramsdens
Camden Food Co. (I think)

MANCHESTER PICCADILLY

Burger King: Should be 20%
Bagel Shop opp. Boots
Pasty Shop
Upper Crust (can be hit and miss)
Yo Sushi for Network Rail pass holders but they do a discount on certain days, when you pay then forms are by the till, 20% IIRC.
Balcony Bar!! - Show your passes for I think a 15% on food & drinks

I'm sure Starbucks in St Pancras which is the one right by the stairs/escalators to the South Eastern platforms offers discounts.

Huddersfield Buffet:
Same price, twice as nice (well twice as big usually) :) hence the dangerously obese staff working through that station.

(Not me of course, just like Eric I'm big boned :( )

Surprised some of them can still fit in the cab. Have to say though it is a very good breakfast.
