Rail Rover Maps

Does anybody know if there is a map available that shows the boundaries of all the various regional rovers on the same map?

Even one thats slightly out of date would be useful

Ive got about 10 pdfs open at once here and my computer is slowing down!

Unfortunately not.
The closest you get is the Northern rovers and rangers leaflets which show the boundaries for the NE/NW tickets in one pdf.

edit - just had a look and the latest versions have been split up into individual pdfs!!!!

I guess I should have been clearer. what I meant was to have all of them on a single map....

That's never been available. Even the ancient BR rover leaflets had a map for each rover. The problem is of course overlaps. There are places where 4 different rovers are valid. (5 if you add ALR)

so, similar to the TOC map Project Mapping produces. They have no problem showing when 5 or 6 operators share a line

I have a map from the 1950s showing all regional rovers, but at that time there was no overlap

Having studied geography, and worked with various cartography plans before, I can see if I could produce anything. But it may just take a while, as I'll have to produce a basemap too, as I can't just base it off of something like projectmapping's work for copyright reasons.

I'm sure I remember picking up a Regional Railways leaflet at Warrington Bank Quay in the mid-1990s showing at least all the north of England rovers/rangers on a single map. It had a green cover, if my memory serves me right...

I agree, the best maps are the BR maps, and the ones that contained the detailed information on the reverse.

It tells a story when All The Stations (supported by RDG) still uses the pdfs thankfully still available on the web archive.

They just needed updated, not redrawn.

OK. Rangers are 1 day so assumed Rovers would be > 1 day. Didn't realise they were defined as 3 days or more.

Between them the Glasgow/Edinburgh Rovers cover a greater area than the Central Scotland Rover, it's just a shame they don't meet up properly to make one big Rover.
