Just emailed Chairman Claire Hollingsworth at Eurostar regarding class 373 being taken for scrap. I offered an alternative in that the carriages should be offered to ROCs and used with loco's 67s (or other) on long haul routes across North Wales or Northern England - ATW, Northern, EMT, Virgin Trains and Merseytravel. She replied saying thx for ya email. I will review the information supplied and get back to you with an answer. The carriages are 22yrw old and could be refurbished and used for another 8-13yrs. As the units will be going at a much slower speed (100-125mph) they should last longer.

Please, do us a favor and read the entire thread dealing with the Class 373s a bit further down the page. This idea isn't new and won't happen for the reasons discussed previously.

Do you know how long in the tooth they are. There is a reason why they are going for scrap.
